Sam Agee - Secretary of the Gills Creek Watershed Association is Chairman/CEO of Gateway Hospitality, a hotel management company. He has lived in Columbia for 30 years in the Lake Katharine neighborhood.

Daniel L. Tufford, Ph.D. - Treasurer of the Gills Creek Watershed Association
Dr. Tufford is on the research faculty in Biological Sciences at the University of South Carolina and is a 29+ year resident of the Gills Creek watershed.

Carol Kososki - Chairperson of the Finance Committee
Ms. Kososki is the current Chair of the Richland County Conservation Commission, is a founding member and officer of Friends of Cangaree Swamp, served as interim Vice Chair of Gills Creek Watershed Association and lives on Forest Lake in the Gills Creek watershed.

Robert Bunch - Chairperson of the Technical Committee is a resident in the Gills Creek watershed and is an environmental consultant with Palmetto Environmental Consulting, Inc. He is a Board Member of Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity and active with the Coastal Conservation Association.

Tameria Warren - Chairperson of the Education Committee is the Sustainability Management System Coordinator at Fort Jackson. She is a board member of Sustainable Midlands, the Columbia Urban League Guild, and is the ministry leader for the Genesis Project at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road.

Julie Jones, Chairperson of the Membership Committee, is Vice President of Tuttle Construction, a local custom homebuilder. She is a Licensed Real Estate Agent, a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia, and was a founding member of the Blythewood Cultural Arts Association.

Elliott Powell - Past Chairperson of the Gills Creek Watershed Association
Mr Powell is president of First Sun HR & Benefit Solutions, and was born and raised in the Gills Creek watershed. He currently resides on Lake Katharine. He was a founding member of the Gills Creek Watershed Association established in the early 1990s, served as the secretary of the original effort, and was the first chairman on the reorganized effort.

Michael Criss
Mr. Criss is a consulting planner in the midlands who advocates watershed-based land use planning and ecosystem conservation.

Judy Timmons is a founding member of the Environmental Stewardship Committee at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church and lives in the Rockbridge Road area of the watershed. She is a member of the GCWA's Education Committee.

Pete Mayers
Pete Mayers has a background in waste water treatment, mechanical maintenance, mechanical engineering, is active in the Rosewood Community Council, a member of the Richland County Airport Commission, and a member of the GCWA.

Yancy McLeod Is an attorney who grew up in Columbia in the Gills Creek watershed. Mr. McLeod works with landowners, developers, engineers and homeowners associations as a natural resource and land use planning consultant through Natural Resources Protection and Mitigation, LLC. Mr. McLeod is a former President of the South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts.

Julie Mayson is a resident of Arcadia Lakes and serves as the coordinator for the GCWA Adopt-a-Highway project. She is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in administration management.

Program Coordinator

Erich Miarka - Erich is a graduate of the Master of Earth and Environmental Resource Management program at the University of South Carolina. He specializes in water resources and recently worked with national river conservation organization American Rivers. He has lived in the Gills Creek Watershed for over six years and is an active member of the outdoor recreation community. You can typically find him on one of Columbia's waterways fishing or kayaking with his dog.
