Title: Community Liaison

Compensation: $17.50/hour, 8-10 hours per week, with potential to increase hours

Position: Independent Contractor

Overview: 

The Gills Creek Watershed Association (GCWA) is seeking a passionate and organized person to develop and maintain relationships for GCWA with association members, community stakeholders, and local businesses. This part-time, contract-based position plays a key role in promoting our mission through effective communication, database management, outreach efforts, and content development.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently on a variety of tasks. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Relationship Management and Community Engagement

    1. Build and maintain positive relationships with GCWA members, community stakeholders, and local businesses to support engagement and retention.

    2. Coordinate with Executive Director to prepare and send membership renewal reminders, membership confirmations, and donor communication. 

    3. Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain new members and donors, in conjunction with Executive Director and Board.

    4. Process Watershed Champion applications.

  2. Website and Email Monitoring and Maintenance 

    1. Monitor and manage inquiries to GCWA general email account.

    2. Perform contact maintenance and track member interests through our CRM platform, Wild Apricot. 

    3. Process new and renewing memberships and donations via website and mail.

    4. Maintain and update website as needed. 

  3. Outreach and Marketing

    1. Assist in planning and executing member outreach and volunteer activities. 

    2. Develop engaging social media content and marketing materials using Meta Business Suite and Canva.


Personal Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Previous database/data entry experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Experience in creating social media content, creating and editing short-form videos (or Reels), and using Canva to design educational and marketing materials.

  • Passion for environmental conservation and community engagement.
