Partners for Plants!

We're kicking off a Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend of Service by partnering with the Palmetto Garden Club, Front Yard Forest, and YOU to bring more native plants back to the banks of Gills Creek.

WHAT: P4P - Planting Native Plants Along Gills Creek

WHEN: Friday, 1/16/26 from 10 AM to 2 PM - Drop-in when you can!

WHERE: Crowson Road between Ft Jackson Blvd & Devine St (near Rosewood Crossing parking lot)

WHY: This is the site of one of GCWA's major restoration projects, and we need to maintain it by removing invasive plants and adding more beneficial native plants. Doing so will reduce erosion, improve water quality, and enrich the habitat for wildlife!

You don't need to register. Drop in whenever you can, even if you only have an hour over your lunch break to spare! We'll provide the plants, tools, clean gloves and vests, and leadership. Sturdy shoes and long pants and recommended. Be aware that we will be working on a steep bank.

Huge thanks to the Palmetto Garden Club and The Garden Club of America for their generous P4P grant and to Front Yard Forest for leading the way in sustainable landscaping in the Midlands!
